ADDING FOLLOW BUTTON TO YOUR BLOGSPOT (BLOGGER) PAGE

How to add a Follow (also known as Followers) Button to your blog, in six easy steps -

1.  From "Home', click "Design' in the upper right-hand corner -

2.  You are now on the Design page, where you can do all kinds of cool things!  For now, we want to add a 'Followers' gadget.  Over on the left side of the page, click 'Layout' -

3.  This takes you to the Layout page.  Depending on the template you chose when you first set up your blog page, there will be an area on either the left or right side of the page, where you will see a small dotted-line box with a blue link titled "Add A Gadget".  Click this link -

4.  Clicking the link brought up a smaller window with a list of gadgets in it, didn't it?  There is a gadget titled 'Google+ Followers', but unless you want to have only people who have a Google+ account (not everyone has or wants one of those; most have just a regular Google account) to be able to follow you, you don't want that gadget.  We're going add the 'old' Followers gadget that allows pretty much anyone to follow you, provided they have some sort of Google account.  On the left side of the window, click the 'More Gadgets' link -

5.  This brings you to a new list.  The first gadget in the list should be the Followers gadget - if not, scroll down until you find it.  Click the blue Followers title or the 'plus' symbol on the right -

6.  You can keep the default gadget title, Followers, or name it something else.  I named my Follow gadget "The Pajama Thief's Minions".  Have fun!  Oh, don't forget to click 'SAVE'!

Click the 'View Blog' button at the top of the page to return to 'Home'.  You should now see something like this -

Now, go tell the world!  :-)

P.S.  Please excuse the grammar; I did this all in about twenty minutes.  :-)

I know... it's a big pain, isn't it? But, I've got to keep the spam-bots and spiders out... they're always leaving candy wrappers and pop cans laying about; sloppy little buggers!

Thank you.
